5. Clients Setup

By now you should be one step away from running LTSP successfully. If you had visited www.rom-o-matic.net before, you should now be able to download the etherboot image for your workstations NICs. This is where the prerequisites page becomes useful in the type of NICs of your workstations. Please choose the ones that are compatible with LTSP yet. After you have downloaded the boot images, you need to have blank floppies, or format the ones you have. On Red Hat Linux 8.0, you can format the floppies using the following command (make sure the floppy is not mounted by running the command "df"):

#fdformat /dev/fd0

After the format "cat" the images to floppies individually as follow:

#cat name_of_etherboot_image > /dev/fd0

After this step, you need to make sure that the services that are required to run LTSP are all running on your server.
